Clota Marilyn Rogers

Clota M. Rogers, 97, of Stanton, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2025 at the Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington. She was born October 15, 1927 in Powell County to the late W.I. & Beatrice Brandenburg Rogers. Clota, affectionately called "Clotie", had a strong work ethic that was evident even after her many years of working and retiring from Curlee Clothing Company and then as a cook for the Powell County Board of Education. Clota was a woman who fiercely loved and was dedicated to her Lord, family, church family, and friends. She was known for being very active in church and was there "anytime the doors were open." If she wasn't at church, you would not find her being idle at home. She would be reading her Bible, calling to check on family and frirends, cleaning her emmaculate home, making a quilt, or drying apples for her famous fried pies that were her signature dish for every church or family function. On many summer and fall days, you'd find her maintaining an expansive garden, breaking beans on the back porch, weeding her flower beds, or canning the fruits of her hard labor. Clota will be fondly remembered for loving deeply, praying faithfully and fervently for the people she loved, and being comically feisty with her thoughts and passions. Survivors include: sons Johnnie (Betty) Stewart & Vincent (Kay) Stewart; daughters Evalene Dotson, Anna Todd, Cenda (Billy) Todd, & Betty (Chester) Miller; brother Clayton Rogers; sister Mellie M. Rogers; grandchildren Kathryn Amanda (Matt) Blandford, Tonya (Anthony) Faulkner, Gary (Valerie) Stewart, Brandon (Gretchen) Brewer, Dana Brewer, Rhonda Todd, Anthony (Christy) Todd, Brian Ray (Bernice) Todd, Jason Wayne (Jessica) Todd, & Monica Lacy; great-grandchildren, Reagan Kathryn Blandford, Lillian Charlotte Blandford, Tyler Faulkner, Madison Faulkner, Logan (Shawna) Stewart, Leslie (Austin) Mullins, Morgan (Lillie) Porter, Mallory Paige Porter, Evalee Hope Brewer, Colburn Jack Brewer, Austin Sparks, Emma Todd, Madilyn Todd, Conner Ray Todd, Karlee Ann Todd, Jaxon Wayne Todd, Jacey Louise Todd, & Molly Lacy; great great-grandchildren, Raelyn Stewart, Blake Stewart, & Clayton Mullins; and a host of nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cebert Stewart, husband Oscar Rogers, grandson Darrin Scott Muncie; and great great-grandchild Serenity Stewart. Services Monday, March 3, 1:00PM by Bro. Kenny Wasson and Bro. George Sparks. Visitation Sunday 5-9pm at the Wells Funeal Home. Burial in Resthaven Cemetery with Gary Stewart, Logan Stewart, Brandon Brewer, Anthony Todd, Brian Todd & Jason Todd serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving, Lonnie Dale & Gayle Stewart, Billie Long, Diane Long, Janette Lane, and members of her church familiy.
