Sharon Yvon Estes

Mrs. Sharon Yvon Tipton Estes, 78, wife of the late Bobby Eugene Estes, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025 at the Stanton Nursing Home. She was born September 20, 1946 in Rosslyn, Kentucky to the late Georgia Inez McIntosh Tipton and Pleas L. Tipton, Jr. A lifelong resident of Powell County, Sharon was devoted to her Christian faith and in love to her family. She is remembered for 30 years of remarkable work for the United States Postal Service, 5 years proudly working as the switchboard operator at Clark Regional Hospital, and the immeasurable contributions that she and Bobby made together to this community. Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, with whom we know she has already happily reunited in Heaven. Mrs. Estes is survived by: brother Larry (Annette) Tipton; sisters Carol (Tony) Ball and Judith Chaney; son Dewayne (Felicia) Estes; daughter Bridget (Brian) Marcum; nieces Robin (Richard) Boone, LeAnne (Rui) Jones, Jennifer Davis, and Dana (Rob) Little; nephews Kevin (Kellie) Ball, Nick (Rebekah) Hale, and Richard White Jr.; grandchildren: Jacob (Taylor) Estes, Luke Marcum, Claire Estes, Noah Marcum, and Julia Estes; and step-grandchild: Anna Estes. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews, other family, and friends. All of Sharon’s family extends their deepest gratitude to the Stanton Nursing Home, all of its staff, and Sharon’s buddy, Berna Jenkins, for providing excellent care to her over the past year. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21 beginning at 11:00 AM at Wells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00PM and will be officiated by Bro. Greg Webb. A private burial will follow with Jacob Estes, Luke Marcum, Noah Marcum, Rob Little, Richard Boone, and Brian Marcum serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Larry Tipton, Tony Ball, Richard White Jr., Damon Hughes, Chad Birch, C.B. Martin, Gary and Joanne Lake, Mendel and Debbie Tipton, Angela Maloney, Judy Crowe, Jerri Lucas, Pat Leclaire, Linda Anderson, Dwain Anderson, Dale Anderson, and Berna Jenkins.
