James Congleton, 91, husband of Margaret Hatton Congleton, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at his home. He was born May 27, 1929 in Powell County, to the late Joseph Crit and Emma Hatton Congleton. He was a Army Veteran serving in the 101st Airborne Division and served as the Powell County Sheriff wearing badge #125. James was a member of the Stanton Masonic Lodge F&AM 352 for 54 years. Survivors include, wife, Margaret Congleton; daughter, Pam Congleton Angel; sister, Pearl Johnson; grandchildren, Travis Winset, Joseph Woosley, Bradley Woosley, and Kristen Lemke; great-grandchildren, Chesney Woosley, Camryn Woosley, and Cohen Woosley. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Randy Congleton. Services Friday, September 25, 2020 1:00PM Davis & Davis Funeral Home by Danny Martin. Visitation Thursday 5-9pm at the funeral home with Masonic Rights at 8:00pm. Burial in Hatton Creek Cemetery with Gary Abner, Larry, Hatton, Darrell Congleton, John Edwards, Danny Rogers, and Gary Crabtree serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers serving, Betty Atkinson, Gary Meadows, Kim & Phillip Spencer, Dan & Donna Tharpe, Darrell & Christine Randall, Don & Brenda Ross, Danny & Carol Martin, Danny & Sherry Rogers, Larry & Kay Epperson, Garlen Rose, Pamela Walker, David Tharpe, Kenny & Lee Strange, Rub Skidmore, Larry Hall, and James Ed Dennis.
